I heard about this website a couple years ago on the evening news, and ever since then I check once a year to see if I have money that I may not know about.  The website address is www.sco.ca.gov/.  It's the California State Controller's website and it has a section on the first page where you can find any unclaimed property that may have been turned over to the state for various reasons.  Since I found out about this site I have claimed hundreds of dollars for myself, and I have helped many of my friends, family and clients, claim money too.  I recommend that you check it out for yourself by clicking on the link above.
